'05 Point Conception Pinot Grigio.  All the fruit from this
wine came from the famous Cargasacchi-Jalama Vineyard.  This vineyard is the very
unique in that it is the one of the closest vineyards in all of Santa Barbara County
(if not the closest) to the ocean.  This pinot grigio was made a little differently than
most.  It was destemed and then crushed, allowing the skins to soak in the juice
longer. The result is the beautiful salmon color (when Pinot Grigio ripens, the skins
actually begin to turn red).  The wine Exhibits aromatic floral notes combined with
hints of melon.  On the palate its finishes with citrus, and is of coarse, bone dry…
Food pairing...Skewered & spicy Jamaican Jerk Shrimp with mango
chutney sauce on the side.
.

’04 Point Conception Chardonnay.  The fruit from this crisp
refreshing chardonnay came from the Sierra Madre vineyard.  This is what you
would call a “no oak” chardonnay, meaning the wine was fermented in stainless
steel.  The result is a very clean crisp wine with flavors of apple, citrus and
pineapple.  It is a fantastic food wine and goes well with most anything.
Food pairing...skewered Coconut battered shrimp, sweet chili sauce on the side.

’05 Point Conception Cargasacchi-Jalama
Vineyard Pinot Noir
This is what great Santa Barbara County Pinot
Noir is all about.  The wine is an elegant garnet color, with notes of red fruit, earth,
and spice on the nose.  On the Palate, all those flavors and more come together to
form a deeply flavored, very complex Burgundian style wine.
Food pairing...Lamb sirloin with port wine demi glaze topped with balsamic glazed
portobello
mushroom on a french bread crouton.

'05 Point Conception Cuvee Jalama Syrah  The fruit
from this wine came from two fantastic vineyards: the Moss Hill vineyard in
Templeton, and the Larner vineyard in Ballard Canyon .  The wine is dark in color
(Larner will do that…) with loads of black-berry fruits encompassed with meaty
tones and spice.  It’s a big wine that evolves as you swirl it in the glass.
Food pairing...lamb sirloin with mint infused blackberry bordelaise on a french
bread
crouton topped with sauteed savory portobello mushroom slices.
